I'm in the process of putting several small videos up on youtube dealing with Jaynes' thesis and the question of what it might tell us about human language and communications in the time periods PRIOR to those which Jaynes studied:

I believe that Jaynes was correct in describing idolatry as involving hallucinations; nonetheless I believe that as you go further back in time the usage of the right-side analog to the speech center involved more than hallucinations.
