Video: The Angel Effect

This is a good National Geographic special devoted to the mystery of "the third man", as described by Shackleton. At times of life-threatening stress, a person can sense the presence of another being who provides life-saving guidance. It includes some amazing testimony from modern survivors, and offers various intelligent, informed explanations and neurological models for the phenomena, including Dr. Persinger, who refers to bicameral mind theory. Fascinating.

Thanks for sharing this... great stuff! I think this is the first time I've heard Jaynes's bicameral mind theory referred to directly in a mainstream documentary.
