Interesting article which reminds me of the brain stimulation experiments which caused patients to hear voices.

Learning more about these "other" parts of our psyche might lead to new ways to help people suffering from disorders such as schizophrenia. We all have these "other" parts whether we are aware of them or not. We should try and make friends with them.

This reminds me of the research of Dr. Antonio Damasio, et al who relies on similar data in his theories of feelings in the brain. Though his books (pop science) leave much to be desired in theoretical and argumentative terms, his laundry lists of studies may interest you.

Dr. Michael A. Persinger, who wrote the foreward to Reflections on the Dawn of Consciousness: Julian Jaynes's Bicameral Mind Theory Revisited, has reported doing experiments in which he has elicited in people, by use of magnetic fields stimulating the brain, hallucinations of a "presence."
